Annual Report 2007-2008

ICVA’s Annual Report has now been published and is available to download

New Exec on Board

At the Annual General Meeting held on 6th December 2008 in the Council House, Birmingham an amendment to the constitution concerning the representation on ICVA’s new executive committee was agreed. Voting took place by postal ballot and of those votes cast the alteration was unanimously approved. The association representation on the executive committee is on police authority regional basis and has the support of the Home Office, Scottish Executive and the Association of Police Authorities.

Details of the alteration and revised regions are set out below:

NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO CONSTITUTION

MOTION: That the ICVA constitution under 15, namely, the Executive Committee to be amended as follows:-

15.1 The Executive Committee shall consist of:-

One representative from the Metropolitan Police Authority / City of London

Two representatives from the Scotland (Central, Dumfries & Galloway, Fife, Grampian, Lothian & Borders, Northern, Tayside, Strathclyde, and one from Wales (Dyfed Powys, Gwent, North Wales, South Wales)

One representative from each of the regional areas as set out below:

South West

Avon & Somerset, Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire

South East

Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley

Midlands

Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Mercia, West Midlands

East Midlands

Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire

North West

Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside

North East

Cleveland, Durham, Northumbria

Yorkshire and Humber

Humberside, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire

Eastern

Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk

One member for Northern Ireland appointed by the Northern Ireland Policing Board

15.2 The representatives at 15.1(a-d) above shall hold office for a year but may be reappointed.

15.3 The Executive Committee shall have the power to appoint advisers to advise on specific issues, which in the opinion of the Executive Committee shall have special skills

The existing paragraphs 15.1 to 15.4 to be replaced with the above with effect from 6th December 2008.

At the rising of the Annual General meeting the first meeting of the new Executive Committee took place and David Wood, following John Littlechild’s decision to step down was elected as Chair of the Association.
